Majors Season Ends After Tough Loss to Lynx at SCAC Tournament

JACKSON, Tenn. – The Millsaps Majors Softball Team returned to action on Saturday afternoon as they took on the Rhodes Lynx in an elimination game as they looked to come up through the bottom bracket and get back into contention for the SCAC Tournament. However, the Majors struggled to figure out Rhodes starter Forrest Skelton as the Lynx pulled away to take a 7-0 win and end the Majors season.

The Majors could not get anything rolling all afternoon as they just seemed out of sync from the start. They only came away with two hits, coming off the bat of junior Emily Collins and sohpomore Allyson Christian. Rhodes was able to break open a 3-0 game in the fifth and sixth as they added runs to pull away and defeat the Majors.

The Majors finish their season at 19-20 as two seniors finish their careers in the purple and white in Jade Hewitt, a two time All-SCAC selection and Allison Tarbox, a three time All-SCAC selction and Player of the Year. The Majors return to action next season, as they will be a member of the new Southern Athletic Association.
